Important Information!

Climbing the tower is conducted at your own risk. 

Due to safety reasons, it is not permitted to take children under the age of 5 during the climb.

Please note: The starting time of the time slot is also the starting time of the guided tour.

We kindly ask you to be present at the tower 15 minutes before the start of the climb.

Tower climbing

During a guided tour of an hour, you will learn more about the legend of this tower. Climbing the 346 steps is rewarded with a beautiful view of Amersfoort and its surroundings! 

Tower Experience

Through which event did Amersfoort become a pilgrimage city? Where has the church gone? And why is the tower still so important today? The fascinating stories of the tower guide are combined with film projections on the impressive walls of the tower. 

After that, the guide takes you further up the tower, and you can enjoy beautiful views. Most of the time you can see Utrecht and even Amsterdam. This is definitely not something you should miss, see you soon!

Times/Days

There are scheduled daily climbs at 2:00 pm. In high season and on busy days there are extra tours, please check the ticket shop.

Every Saturday there is a carillon climb at 4:30 pm.

On several Saturdays, there are evening climbs. Please check the ticket shop for the most up-to-date climbs.

In case of slippery conditions, thunderstorms, etc., the VVV reserves the right to cancel the tour. Times subject to change. There may be a private event in the Onze Lieve Vrouwetoren, in which case the tour cannot take place. 

Tickets

Buy your tickets by clicking on the button above or at the desk of VVV Amersfoort, just across the tower. A maximum of 14 people can participate per tour. Reservations are required! 

Do you have a voucher for climbing the tower? Then please redeem your voucher at the desk of our tourist office.

Groups of 6 people or more can request a private tour at any time via reserveringen@vvvamersfoort.nl.

The tour starts in front of the tower. We ask you to be present at this point about 15 minutes before the start of the tour. The guide will pick you up when the tour starts.
